Cisco IP Phone 6800/7800/8800 Series with Multiplatform (MPP) Firmware

The Cisco Cloud Upgrader will install software version 12-0-4MPP0001-195 which enables the phone to display a screen for entering an activation code.

Applicable Devices

  • Cisco IP Phone 6800 Series with MPP, excluding Cisco IP Phone DECT 6800 Series with Multiplatform Firmware.
  • Cisco IP Phone 7800 Series with MPP.
  • Cisco IP Phone 8800 Series with MPP.

Minimum Software Version

  • 11.0.0

Determine the Phone IP Address

Step 1 Press the button on the phone.
Step 2 Navigate to Status and press the softkey.
Step 3 Navigate to Network status and press the softkey.
The IP address field is seen here for firmware versions of less than 11. Please note it down.
Otherwise, continue with next steps
Step 4 Navigate to IPv4 status and press the softkey.
Step 5 Note down the IP address field.

Configure the Phone to use the Cloud Upgrader

Note This service is specifically intended for Webex Calling and the activation code onboarding. Factory reset your phone if it was used before.

Manual upgrade

Step 1 Navigate to http://<Phone IP Address>/admin/advanced.
Step 2 Select Voice > Provisioning.
Step 3 Enter the following into the "Profile Rule" field: https://cloudupgrader.webex.com/Cisco/Upgrade/$MAU/$SWVER/$PSN.xml
Step 4 Save and wait for the phone to reboot
Step 5 As soon as the upgrade process is completed, the phone will prompt for an activation code.

Bulk upgrade

Step 1 Configure the DHCP Option 160 to https://cloudupgrader.webex.com/Cisco/Upgrade/$MAU/$SWVER/$PSN.xml
Step 2 You may need to reboot the phones to pick up the DHCP configuration.
Step 3 Wait for the phones to download the config and upgrade.
Step 4 As soon as the upgrade process is completed, the phone will prompt for an activation code.

Verify the Firmware Version using the Phone Web Page

Step 1 Click Info > Status
Step 2 Find Product Information and check Software Version.
